  • Determine your focus and personality
  • Choose a brand name. This can be your own name or catchy business name.
  • Decide on a tagline or slogan that best represents what you stand for.
  • Choose colors and fonts for your Brand.
  • Perhaps create a logo, not absolutely necessary if your just getting started.
  • Use a good photo of yourself, smiling and looking directly into the camera.
  • Create a banner or image to share across all platforms you intend to promote your brand.

Your overall goal should be to get your Brand and all the items listed above seen by the masses. By seeing your face, tagline and staying congruent on all platforms, this will help you grow your Brand quickly.

How to Start Branding “YOU” from Scratch

In yesterday’s Blog post and Facebook Live I talked about Brand “YOU” rather than promoting youBrand Your products and services. Well, I received a lot of feedback asking how do I get started Branding myself? Let’s go through some ideas to get you started.

Every internet marketer has different opinions and strategies they use. The majority start by using Facebook due to the fact that the number of eyes to see YOU is highly increased then other social media outlets. So, let’s focus on Facebook first. Building your Brand through Facebook first, begins your focus with the biggest
audience.

If you are not already a Facebook user, set up a personal account by going to Facebook.com and sign up. If you already have a Facebook account, create a Business/Fan page to begin Branding “YOU”. Login to your personal Facebook page and and follow these steps. (See Below) To create you Business/Fan page click on the drop down arrow in the top corner of your personal page and select create page. Now you have a new page to build your fan business page.

Start by adding a professional photo of yourself and a cover photo that is clear and concise about you and your business. Maybe even a family photo or beautiful scenery picture. Stay away from using photos of the products you sell or service you offer. If you have a tagline share it, if not that is fine.

Next complete the “About” section as thoroughly as you possibly can. To be a credible authority, people want to know about you. Your education, where you live, life events, be willing to share.

Begin posting positive, inspirational pictures and quotes. You can get free photos or build your own from Canva.com. Keep all your postings positive and motivational. Stay away from posting links to what you are promoting to avoid looking spammy. Talk about how what you can do to benefit your visitors. Keep it REAL, share your struggles and how you over came them. What do you stand for and why are you here? Share your core values and what you are all about.

10 Rules To Build Your Business

Here is a share for you of 10 Rules to Build Your Business and become a respected authority so people will follow you and look forward to reading what you have to say. This helps to build your Brand “YOU”. I recently attended the Ray Higdon “Home Business Intensive” Build Your Businessseminar where these rules where discussed thoroughly and can truly build your business professionally. Enjoy!

  1. Role of Leader – Make it easy being a leader for your team. Assist your team in a timely manner and be available to lead them when necessary.
  2. Inspire by Example, Not by Motivation. Imagine if your team sees you taking action consistently, don’t you think that would inspire them to follow your lead?
  3. Everyone has different goals, treat them accordingly. Each individual team member has a different vision. As a leader understand they may use different strategies in their business. Everyone works differently and what works well for one team member may not be as effective with another team member.
  4. Stop pitching “Easy” – Tell the truth. We all know it is not easy. It take hard devoted work to be successful. Ensure that every team member and prospect is serious about building a business. If they are not serious and willing to commit to  investing time and money into learning what it takes, do you really what them on your team?
  5. Celebrate “Slow Wins” too. We all see the posts on Facebook celebrating the top earners. It is important to also celebrate Susie or Bobby’s first sign up. Comparing your business to someone else’s can be conflicting.
  6. Stop Repeating Yourself. Direct questions that are frequently asked to a Blog Post or shoot a video. Then the next time that question is asked you have a detailed resource to share responding to that question. Time is precious. Use it wisely.
  7. Teach to Teach. As you learn new strategies or methods, share them with others. Teach them what you have invested time in to learn. Be proud to say you are an Internet Marketer and you teach others how to build their business.
  8. Best thing to do for your team – Build a New Team. Build a new team of fully engaged committed team members. Guide them to duplicate which ever strategy works best for them. This surely will make a new strong team.
  9. Keep Recruiting. Why would you ever stop recruiting if you have a strong passion and belief in the product or service you promote. When you hit your goal, it is time to reassess and think bigger.
  10. This is the short cut; commit to long term. Most people struggle initially and may even fail. There is no short cut, time and commitment will be long term. Find the core values you want your company to represent and stick to them.

Every Professional needs marketing, whether your a doctor, attorney, hardware store…….etc. So these rules can apply to marketing efforts for any business.
