Proven Strategies To Boost Traffic To Your Blog

Boost traffic to your blog

Proven Strategies To Boost Traffic To Your Blog

Sometimes we all Need A Boost for one thing or another. Now, if you follow my blog posts, by now you have learned how to get your business started, find the best business name and create a Savvy Website that attracts visitors. Maybe you missed my posts. No worries, head over to my blog and take a look.

Adding a blog to your company’s website can help inform your customers about the products and services you offer. Keep fresh content on your website, and increase your traffic. If you’ve worked hard on your company blog and still aren’t seeing the results you had hoped, here are a few proven strategies that can help give your traffic a boost.

[bctt tweet=”How to make sure that your blog goes viral!” username=”sandsonlinevent”]

The first thing you want to do is make sure that your blog goes viral. You may think that you’re adding viral content to your blog by writing about trending topics, but there’s more to it than that. If you pay attention to what other blogs are doing (that actually are viral blogs), you will get a few pointers on what you should change about your own blog, such as…

The Compelling Headline

What makes you want to click on a link and read a blog post? A compelling headline. This is a concept that has been around long before the Internet was a thing. How do you think that advertisers worked back in the day when the only resources they had available were newspaper ads? They wrote headlines that would leave the customer wanting to know more. You should do the same when you write a blog post so that the person has no other choice but to click the link.

Clickbait

Whaaat, Clickbait? Yes, Another proven method of increasing blog traffic is using clickbait. Yes, it has become a dirty word among online advertisers, however, if done correctly, you can use clickbait to your advantage without tricking your target audience into visiting your site. You do that by simply backing up the click-through link with honest and truthful content.

Clickbaits are quite common in social media. The basic concept of ‘clickbait’ is to create a melodramatic title for an online article so as to manipulate people into clicking the link and reading the content. Honestly, clickbait is a smart idea for publicity but, the way it has taken over social media over bland content is quite annoying.

Here’s an example of a Clickbait headline: “Man tries to hug a wild lion’ (omg! why did he do that?)”. Now, odds are most people would click on this link to read the story. The storyline would need to lead into quality content that is congruent with the brand of the website.

Content Length-Word Count

The next tip is to make sure you have the right content length to make it viral. An online viral content publisher showed that they get the most shares with content that ranges from 3000 to 10000 words. They received more than 7.5k shares with that content compared to just under 5k shares with blogs that had less than 1000 words.

Remember the more words you have, the more opportunities you will have to add SEO (Search Engine  Optimization) keywords and phrases, backlinks, and other helpful extras that will bring more traffic to your company blog. However, many blog readers tend to zone out when they have thousands of words to read. Some appreciate shorter content that gets to the point faster. So, which is truly better?

Even though shorter posts may seem more popular, the best option is still more words. While everyone else is still writing 500-word posts, your longer and detailed blogs will stand out among your competitors. Plus, longer posts are great for organic leads which will make your content shareable and evergreen. That means that your blog content will have staying power and it can be repurposed multiple times.

Content is King

Aside from an alluring headline, clickbait, and word count, you need to have an amazing idea for your blog topic so that it will go viral on social media. To do that, you need to learn more about your target audience. What are their interests? Their age groups? What type of content could you write that will get your consumers to click the link to find out more? If you’re still unsure about content ideas, you can visit websites such as Buzzsumo or Ubersuggest to generate ideas for you.

Check out the comments on your company’s Facebook page or read up on reviews. Are there products or services that your target audience would like to see from your brand? Are there issue that they would like to resolve? Gather ideas from these resources to help give your traffic a boost.

The best thing that you can do for your company’s blog is to use what works best for your brand. If you had a surge in visitor’s months ago with a post that contained humor, adding more humor. Your blog doesn’t always need just facts, humor can help. People like to read something that’s upbeat and lighthearted occasionally, and humorous posts are more likely to be shared on social media.

Conclusion

One final thought, experiment with your blog and find out what works with your target audience and what doesn’t. This is a learning experience. You won’t always have the very best blog posts on the web, and that’s okay. Just work hard toward creating interesting content that your customers will want to share with others.

How and Why Hashtags will help my Online Business?

How and Why Hashtags

How and Why Hashtags will help my Online Business?

Have you ever wondered how and why hashtags are used in the online arena. To be honest, when I first heard all the buzz about hashtags I really did not understand how they worked or how and why hashtags could be so powerful.

Hashtags were first originally used in programming language before becoming widely popular to social media. They can consist of a word or multi-word phrases using the (#) pound sign in front of them. Using the # symbol preceded by a word or phrase can help people search for a specific topic or keyword.

Using Hashtags have now been adopted to use across several social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, Google+, to more effectively categorize content and track targeted content. This helps users to find posts that interest them.

Watch this funny excerpt with Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon over using hashtags, Hilarious!

How and Why to Use Hashtags in your posts?

Using hashtags in your posts on social media can attract people that are looking for something specific. Check out Hashtags.org to see what is trending and would provide more engagement to your post. Generally, you want to use hashtags that are relevant to your topic but this is not always the case.

For example, you may feel emotional about the topic and use a hashtag like #soexcited or #thrilling. Simply put, a hashtag is an easy way for people to categorize, find and join conversations on a particular topic.

  • The How: Find the keywords that will attract readers on the topic and simply place the hash symbol (#) in front of the word or phrase. There is no need to use spaces between the words in a phrase. Often it is difficult to understand the hashtag when several words are all together, so you can capitalize the first word to solve this problem. For example: #ThrowBackThursday.
  • The Why: The internet is literally packed with some many posts all throughout social media, it is difficult to find a particular topic you are interested in reading. When hashtags are placed in a post the user can enter into the search bar using a hashtag and the topic or keyword to find what they are looking for. This helps solve the problem of having to wade through thousands upon thousands of unrelated posts.

Learning how to use hashtags is fundamental to your success on social media engagement. You can create your own hashtag to target the audience you want. For example, if your post is related to babies rather than using #parents, hone in on the target using #newmom.

Be careful not use to many hashtags in your post. According to analysis posts with nine hashtags receive the most engagement. Additionally, don’t create long hashtags with too many words. The idea is to make your tag searchable from any social media site.

Your business may be small, and you may have a limited budget, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t options out there to market your business effectively and affordably.

Here are six keys to marketing a small business in a small community:

  • Identify your target market

When determining your target market, try avoiding the phrase, “anyone and everyone.” You may do business in a very targeted customers and of course those are the businesses you want eyes on. It’s a common mistake in any business or organization to think that everyone is a potential customer. Why? Because marketing to anyone and everyone just isn’t feasible from a time or cost standpoint. Narrowing your target to those that will truly benefit from your product or service will allow you focus your marketing and maximize your marketing ROI.

  • Develop a strategy

As a small business owner, you are pulled in a million different directions every day. One of the most common complaints I hear from my clients is that they just don’t have time to focus on marketing or business development because they are so caught up in the day to day of running their business. Sound familiar? Developing a clear marketing strategy and plotting out your plan and budget will help you maximize your marketing dollars and your time so you can focus on running your business.

  • Build your brand

Just because you are small, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think of your business as a brand. Investing in your company’s identity is crucial to creating awareness, building a following, and growing your business. Developing your brand should consist of a professional logo, colors, and typography at a minimum. Additional elements including a tagline, imagery, voice, and personality will assist you in maintaining brand consistency throughout your marketing efforts.

  • Differentiate yourself

It’s rare when a company has zero competition. You may be first to market, but competitors will quickly follow. In a your niche, you may have direct competition, but indirect competitors are likely lurking around the street corner. Conducting a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) is an excellent way to identify how to differentiate yourself from your competitors and will play a vital role in how you decide to market yourself to your target audience.

  • Engage with your customers

Inviting your customers and potential clients to interact with your business is one of the most important tools in your marketing toolbox. Engagement is not selling. It is developing a relationship and growing loyalty through teaching, being a resource, providing valuable or entertaining content, listening and responding, and sharing your business’s personality. Social media, surveys, videos, and contests are a few of the ways to open your business doors and welcome your customers to become part of your brand.

  • Get Active in your community

Show that you are committed to your community. This can take shape in many ways: sponsoring an event, donating to a local non-profit, teaching in online videos with your expertise. Whatever you decide to do, ensure that it aligns with your mission, vision and values. There can be a lot of need in your niche community and be sure to you Differentiate yourself to establish your brand, authority and respect you deserve.

If you utilize these key elements, you will be well on your way to marketing a small business like a pro.

Conclusion

Remember, diversity is the key to any good marketing strategy. If you aren’t sure what you should be doing to effectively market your business, enlisting the help of a marketing professional might make sense for you. Just like you rely on your accountant to assist you with the financial aspects of your business. A marketing professional can help set you on the right track for marketing your business. They’ll help you explore your options and identify which will be most effective for you. They can help you create a strategy, set a budget, and measure and track your efforts.

Six Savvy Ways To Market Your Website

Savvy Website

Six Savvy Ways To Market Your Website

You want your company’s website to reach out to as many people as possible. Its primary purpose is to be a virtual advertisement that teaches visitors more about what the brand has available. If you aren’t marketing your website correctly, no one is seeing your content. And that means your website isn’t doing its job. Let’s discuss six savvy things that you can do to help market your website and boost the number of visitors you receive.

[bctt tweet=”Doing It Right: Six Fundamental Ways To Do Website Marketing” username=”sandsonlinevent”]

Search Engine Optimization:

This is the process of increasing the visibility of your website in search engine results. By optimizing keyword phrases, you can help rank your link to the top of search engine result pages such as Google or Bing. Since most people do not go beyond the first page of their search results, being at the top really matters when it comes to SEO.

There are several ways you can improve your website’s SEO. You can improve your existing content to include more keyword phrases. Add a blog to add fresh content to your site, and increase the number of backlinks or inbound links that are on your webpage. Inbound links are links that your website receives from other websites. They help to improve your online reputation.

Blogging:

The second thing on our list is blogging. Having a company blog on your website will provide you with a place to inform your target audience of everything new. And keeping consistent content on your page will help keep visitors coming back for more. The wonderful thing about blogging is that your content doesn’t always have to be about the company. It can be about something distantly related to your brand that is popular or trending right now.

PPC or Pay-Per-Click:

This is an online marketing strategy that’s been around for years, yet it’s still very effective. PPC advertising can bring in traffic to your site from search engines. You pay a fixed price for every click your ad receives. The goal is to convert the visitor to see a return on your investment.

Google Adwords uses PPC and allows you to set a budget (such as five dollars a day or a maximum of ten cents per click). You choose the keyword phrases and Google helps you get your company’s ad in front of your target audience, no matter where they may be on the web.

Facebook Ads:

On average, more than 483 million people use Facebook every day. That’s great news for companies who wish to advertise on the social media giant. Facebook ads can help you direct your ads to members of your target audience. You can choose your ads to show to people in a certain location, age demographic, or fans of other similar companies to your own. It’s a great, affordable way to bring new traffic to your website.

Retargeting Ads:

This is a method where you place a tracking cookie on your visitor’s computer. When they leave your website, they will see ads from your company, allowing them to click and come back if there were something they missed. This advertising method can help you reach visitors who leave without making a purchase, which can often be around 98% of your total visitors.

If you’ve spent any time online you’ve seen retargeting ads yourself. You may visit an online store, looking for an item to buy and then leave the website. A few minutes later while on Facebook, an ad shows up on your wall for the exact store or the exact item you were looking for. This keeps your company or the item the visitor wants, fresh in their minds. And that will increase the chances of the visitor coming back to buy the product.

YouTube:

Creating a video about your company and posting it on YouTube can help expose your brand to others in a creative and convenient way. Google will index the content and others can embed your video on their blogs to share on social media. While not everyone has a video to go viral, you can still use YouTube as a resourceful tool to help get your name out there.

YouTube also gives you the option to advertise on other videos by purchasing targeting ads which are relevant to your business. If you sell athletic apparel for example, you could purchase a targeted ad for a video featuring sports news. People interested in athletics viewing the news video will see your ad and will be more inclined to purchase something from you than someone in another demographic.

5 Steps to Working for Yourself from Home

Working For Yourself

Are you are tired of a daily commute, want to spend more time with your family, or simply don’t want to have to go into an office all the time? Working for yourself on your own business from home can be the solution you’ve been wanting.

Entrepreneurs who are working from home are usually self-starters who give themselves their own assignments and deadlines, and then proceed to create high-quality work within their assigned time frames.

Working from home is so much better because you have no commute, you are better able to manage your household, can spend more time with family, and you don’t have to pay for a work wardrobe or dry cleaning.

But, working for yourself isn’t for everybody. It requires a lot of self-discipline and time management. When you are working from your home computer and home office, it’s easy to become distracted by non-work related things. In order to make working from home easier for you, here are five things you can do to prepare yourself to work from home.

[bctt tweet=”Working from home is so much better because you have no commute.” username=”sandsonlinevent”]

Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is to assemble the tools you will need to work from home. These include such things as a

  • personal computer or laptop
  • a reliable high-speed Internet connection
  • a telephone line, either a mobile or landline or both.

Step 2

Working from home requires establishing a time management plan. Your workday probably isn’t going to be the traditional 9 to 5 when you work from home. Because you don’t have a commute, you can start work earlier and work later into the evening if you prefer.

But you can still expect to spend at least eight hours per day on the job (at least in the beginning) working from home as you would if you were a full-time employee. How you schedule that time is up to you and will depend on how you schedule your personal requirements, such as driving kids to school or cooking for your family.

Step 3

Working from home is establishing lines of communication with your contacts. How will you keep in touch with your customers, partners, and team?

  • by phone
  • email
  • text message
  • face-to-face communication
  • video conferencing

Understanding how you will communicate with the is an important consideration before you begin working from home.

Step 4

Working from home is staying motivated and productive without direct supervision. This usually will take some getting used to because it will seem as if you have a lot more freedom when you work at home. But too much freedom can be a bad thing and if you aren’t productive, it could affect your earning ability.working from home

It’s a good idea to set up a list of your daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks. This will help you stay on track and keep your attention from wandering to non-work related things. For example, if you have ten specific tasks to finish by the end of the day, you can attack those items one by one until they are completed.

Step 5

Share the burden of your household responsibilities with other family members. Let your partner and family know that just because you are at home doesn’t mean you aren’t working. Your work time is just as important as your family time, and they need to respect your borders.working from home

Delegate household tasks to other people, such as walking the dog or cleaning and cooking. Avoid shouldering all the responsibilities of maintaining your household. Just because you’re home doesn’t mean you aren’t on the job.

Usually, within a few days or weeks of working at home, most people fall into a familiar, productive routine. But following these five simple steps, you can accelerate that process so you can work from home successfully starting from the very first day.

Conclusion

As I mentioned above, working for yourself in a home business isn’t for everyone. Although following the 5 Steps outlined above can truly make it possible. Staying motivated, sticking to daily scheduled tasks, staying focus and delegating household tasks can ensure you are a successful entrepreneur earning an income on the internet, from home.
